We are looking for a Product Owner to join the Lottery Data & Insights team and support the execution of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. You will work closely with business stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams to translate business needs into product requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

The role requires 3+ years of experience in business or financial systems analysis or as a Product Owner, a strong understanding of product management and SDLC, and the ability to work across distributed teams. Experience with transaction processing systems is a strong plus, as is familiarity with tools such as Polarion, IBM DOORS, Power BI, or Tableau.

Requirements

  • BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Product Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial or business systems analysis roles or as a product owner in a business-related field.
  • Primarily business background (>50%) as well as experience translating business requirements into technical terms (<50%).
  • A strong understanding of product management and software development methods (SDLC), applied concepts, and tools in modern product management and product design.
  • The ability to solve complex challenges and convert them into structured solutions that are actionable for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority, working with team members who do not report into this role to get things done.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing initiatives with an aggressive multi-project schedule.
  • Ability to travel internationally (up to 15% of time).
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones internationally.
  • A sound understanding of the technical aspects of a transaction processing product (such as a lottery transaction engine, a core banking system, or a fintech) and its complexities is a strong plus.

  • Lottery experience
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with writing requirements, using DOORS or Polarion.

Responsibilities

  • Support migration efforts as Brightstar transitions sites to cloud based environment
  • Document requirements from initial drafting to review with end users including change
    request periods and final deliverables.
  • Understand and help contribute to the product manager’s vision for Brightstar’s Data and
    Insight products
  • Lead customer engagements to understand and anticipate their needs (primarily focused on
    business needs to drive revenue) and translate them into product requirements, arrange
    and conduct product demonstrations and workshops
  • Own the Data and Insight products, elaborating features into technical requirements with
    Product Engineering, defining, managing, and overseeing delivery of the team backlog,
    acceptance testing of products to the shelf
  • Oversee all stages of product creation (including design and development) by liaising closely
    with product engineering leaders who will manage the day-to-day engineering efforts
  • Create customer-specific artifacts (e.g., Business Process Flows, Functional Specifications,
    Use Cases, Customer Requirements Documents, Configuration Questionnaires)
  • Cooperate with other stakeholders, such as Marketing, Legal and Security
  • Provide guidance, and ongoing support for customers to drive product usage
  • Support pre-sales efforts and represent Data and Insight products in customer presentations
