Software / Web Developer and Cloud Automation Engineer
Job Description
Our client is looking for a talented and motivated Software / Web Developer and Cloud Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our team’s internal web presence and automating our cloud management functions.
This is a new role with an opportunity for someone who is creative, motivated, and engineering to influence direction from the ground up. You will contribute directly to the vision of where our user experience and automation functions will evolve over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate and contribute directly as a member of the cloud governance team.
- Improve operational efficiency by automating existing and future processes in the cloud.
- Establish and evolve our self-service request web portal with integration into Azure, AWS, GCP, GitHub, Entra ID, Jira Service Manager, EasyVista Service Manager, and other services.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as AWS Cloudformation/AWS CDK basics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with cloud governance policies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud automation and service integrations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, with expertise in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- AWS Cloudformation/AWS CDK basics
- Ruby on Rails
- React & Typescript
- Azure Entra Graph API
- Docker and Docker Compose
- Postgres database management
- GitHub Basics and GitHub Actions
- Basic GCP Knowledge and GCP Organizations
- Familiarity with the following AWS Services or Lambda (Serverless Application Model or SAM) or Step Functions or Elastic Container Service or Elastic Container Registry or RDS or Simple Email Service or Route53 or Cloudfront or Cloudwatch or EC2 or S3 or Service Catalog or AWS Organizations or KMS or IAM
- Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, and Azure)
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure management
- Experience with serverless computing, such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
- Familiarity with other programming languages, such as Go or Ruby
