Senior Cloud Engineer

Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer.

You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of our cloud environments governance framework. 

You will work closely with our IT, DevOps, and development teams to ensure the smooth operation and performance of our cloud-based systems. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain governance functions in a multi-cloud environment (AWS / GCP primarily, with Azure secondary). 
  • Support onboarding, administering, and managing GitHub Enterprise. This includes implementing operational processes and best practices. 
  • Leverage Microsoft Entra ID identity and access management solutions to support operational needs. 
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and ensure optimal performance. 
  • Implement and manage security policies and best practices. 
  • Automate routine tasks using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell. 
  • Collaborate with product DevOps teams to support cloud services integration. 
  • Manage and troubleshoot cloud-related issues. 
  • Participate in a periodic On-Call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical cloud infrastructure. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and trends. 
Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Senior Cloud Engineer. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in AWS: AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudTrail, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Control Tower, AWS Config, AWS Health Dashboard, AWS Organizations, Service Catalog, AWS Trusted Advisor 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in GCP: Billing Exports, Automation, Logging/Monitoring, Security & Networking Controls, Policies, Infrastructure automation using Terraform 
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in Azure Cloud Governance 
  • Strong experience building AWS and GCP landing zones, infrastructure, policies etc. 
  • Extensive experience with GitHub administration. 
  • Experience writing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.). 
  • Exceptional technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (English) 
  • Strong work ethic, proactive, and highly motivated. 
  • Experience working in a CCoE organization. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect). 
  • Experience with IT operations and support. 
  • Knowledge of networking and security in cloud environments. 
  • Preference for candidates who also possess administration skills in Azure. 

Nice to have

  • Experience with Dynatrace and open source monitoring technologies.
